American Library Association has announced the 2022 Youth Media Award winners. The winner of the Newbery Medal was The Last Cuentista, by Donna Barba Higuera. Michael L. Printz Award for excellence in literature written for young adults was Firekeeper’s Daughter, by Angeline Boulley. Randolph Caldecott Medal for the most distinguished American picture book for children was Watercress, illustrated by Jason Chin.
